He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medics desperately tried to save him.

But tragically the cyclist from Paisley died three days after the Fielden Street smash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A woman has been charged after a cyclist died following a crash in Glasgow.

“64-year-old John Morton died in hospital as a result of a road traffic collision on Fielden Street, Glasgow, on Monday, 29 May, 2023.

“A 52-year-old woman was arrested and charged on Tuesday, 23 April, 2024 in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

After John’s death numerous online tributes were made to him.

One said: “Gone far too soon still can’t believe it.”

Another wrote: “RIP John so heartbreaking back in the arms of your sister Christine.”

A third added: “RIP John we will miss you.”
