The Shout star is in the middle of her final ever tour and took centre stage at the city’s Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday night.

Lulu – who was joined on stage by Sea Shanty TikTok star Nathan Evans – told the audience: “Here I am, back where it all started. This is where it all began.

“I have had the most unbelievable life. This tour is really special for me because this is the last one.

“To come from Dennistoun, we didn’t have very much.

“I have had so many pinch me moments.

“The core of who I am was very delicately written when I lived here to age 15.

“The core of me is that I am from Glasgow.

“If I am who I am it’s because of how I was born into this city.”

The crooner is set to go out with a Boom Bang-a-Bang after it emerged she’s to be announced on the Glastonbury line-up. It comes after she previously appeared at the Worthy Farm festival in 2015.

A source said: “Lulu is going to be announced as a performer at Glastonbury next week.

“It’s a massive deal for her and she can’t wait to play the Avalon stage.

“When Glasto organiser Emily Eavis got in touch about going down to the farm she couldn’t turn it down.

“It will be an emotional moment for her as it’s the last time she will ever play Glastonbury.”

Lulu has rubbed shoulders with a number of a-list stars during her career.

She worked with and dated late rock star David Bowie while also recorded the theme for the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun.

And she was also married to late Bee Gees legend Maurice Gibb then later celebrity hairdresser John Frieda, 72.

Lulu’s ten Top Ten singles include Relight My Fire with Take That which hit the top spot in 1993.

Announcing her retirement earlier this year she said: “This is my farewell tour, with family and friends.

“Because last year I did a tour that was kind of gruelling. You need an army these days.”

She previously said that playing at Glasto was a career highlight.

She said: “The roar from the crowd was deafening.

“I was very surprised, as I didn’t really know what to expect. It was just fantastic and I had so much fun.”

Her final ever Scots performance will be in August at Party at the Palace in Linlithgow, West Lothian.
